Mark Design Studios is proud to participate in this year’s CANstruction Long Island design / build competition to help fight hunger.
Throughout the year, Mark Design Studios donates to various charities, and we sponsor multiple charity events. We are excited to continue to enrich our communities by giving back to the neighborhoods where we work, learn, play and live.
CANstruction is an international charity originated in 1992 of the architecture, engineering, design, and construction industry which has been responsible for donating over 85 million pounds of food to local food banks worldwide.
CANstruction Long Island, Inc., is the local all-volunteer charity that produces the annual Long Island design/ build competition and has donated over 605,00 cans of food to help feed the hungry Long Islanders in the past twelve years. Below are pictures of last year’s build.

This fall, to help feed the hungry and to raise awareness of hunger on Long Island, we will be participating in the annual CANstruction Long Island team competition. We will be competing against other design firms to build a fun and creative 10’ x 10’ x 10’ sculpture out of cans of food. The sculptures will be on display to the public at RXR Plaza in Uniondale, NY from October 29 – November 11, 2024 (9am – 5pm). At the end of the competition, the sculptures will be disassembled, and the cans will be donated to local food pantries.
Please help us purchase the cans of food that we will need to build the sculpture. We estimate that we will need between $15,000 – $20,000 worth of cans. Any leftover funds will be donated to the charities via check.
